Martis Fund Homebuyer Assistance Program

Since 2016, the Martis Fund has invested $1.2 million into a Down Payment Assistance Program, creating housing opportunities for working families in the Truckee-Tahoe Unified School District. This program supports local families who are interested in purchasing a home by assisting with the down payment. To date, this program has resulted in providing 32 families who live and work in our region with down payment assistance financing. Landing Locals

The dramatic growth of resort towns across America has caused massive housing shortages for the local residents. While most people only travel to these one-of-a-kind destinations for a temporary getaway, the permanent residents and seasonal employees who support these communities are struggling to find housing. Through an innovative approach and trusted online platform, Landing Locals hopes to connect vacation-home owners and renters with the goal of finding all people stable housing in Tahoe — whether that’s seasonal or long-term. Town of Truckee Accessory Dwelling Unit Program

Accessory Dwelling Units, also known as Granny Units or ADUs are a great way to add income-generating capacity to your property, provide rental housing for locals, or a place for extended family to live. The Town of Truckee is working to make building ADUs easier, while helping to support the creation of local rental opportunities for the workforce. Over the next few months, the Town of Truckee will be working to develop materials and a new program to make the process easier for homeowners to navigate.
