Dear Friend of MAP,
Without advocacy, Truckee Tahoe would look and feel quite different. Since 1987, MAP has worked to protect open space and stand up for responsible development through grassroots organizing and, at times, multi-decade land-use challenges, to create a better outcome for the environment and community. Our work illustrates how advocacy matters. How persistence and people prevail in tough times, and how MAPโs advocacy for thirty-eight years has been dependent on people like you - diverse and passionate members who love Truckee Tahoe!
hrough all the campaigns, it hasnโt been easy. Whether our efforts were geared towards confronting unchecked development in the Martis Valley, on Donner Summit, Brockway Summit, or in Eastern Truckee, MAP has shown up with grit, passion, and expertise to protect open space, give voice to the issues, and advocate for solutions.
Members make MAP happen - join our end-of-year match donors, and double your impact. Help us raise $90,000 to power Truckee Tahoe environmental advocacy. With a $45,000 match, your dollars will be doubled, kickstarting MAPโs land use advocacy for 2026.
Thank you to our 2025 end-of-year match donors - The Weakley Family, the Merrill Family Foundation, Anderson Family Fund, Daniel Haas, Peter & Ginnie Haas, Patricia Shifferle & Robert Gilliom, and Cabonaโs for your continued support and for making a positive impact for MAPโs mission.
With 20+ land use applications to watchdog, multi-year planning processes for housing in Tahoe and Truckee, along with our most significant open space advocacy effort to date - MAP is depending on you to help power our work in 2026!
All contributions are tax-deductible, and gifts of $65+ can opt to receive MAPโs limited edition membership t-shirt with original artwork by Bryn Merrell, a Tahoe artist and avid conservation enthusiast! All donations will also receive our MAP membership 2025 sticker, along with all membership benefits.
Donโt miss out on your chance to support MAP, double your love for Truckee Tahoe, and join the MAP member movement in 2025! We are counting on you to power our advocacy for present and future generations.
With gratitude,
Alexis Ollar, MS & GISP
