Without advocacy, Truckee Tahoe would look and feel quite different. Since 1987, MAP has worked to protect open space and stand up for responsible development through grassroots organizing and, at times, multi-decade land-use challenges, to create a better outcome for the environment and community. Our work illustrates how advocacy matters. How persistence and people prevail in tough times, and how MAP’s advocacy for thirty-eight years has been dependent on people like you - diverse and passionate members who love Truckee Tahoe!

Whether our efforts were geared towards confronting unchecked development in the Martis Valley, on Donner Summit, Brockway Summit, or in Eastern Truckee, MAP has shown up with grit, passion, and expertise to protect open space, give voice to the issues, and advocate for solutions.
