The Town of Truckee has received a pre-application for 80 single-family residences at the eastern edge of Truckee, known as the Glenshire Drive Subdivision.
The parcel, known as the Robison parcel, is 61.3 acres, near the entrance to Martis Peak Estates and connected to Canyon-Springs, 290 acres of protected open space owned by the Truckee Donner Land Trust.
The area is a known migration corridor for Loyalton Truckee mule deer Herd, The area has other environmental constraints, such as expansive soils, and is located in a high-severity fire-danger zone.
Eastern Truckee has faced these same land use challenges since 1987. Four separate Development applications for high-density housing at the edge of Truckee, previously known as Tahoe Boca and Canyon Springs, were challenged for 34 years until the owners sold for Conservation in 2021. The Robison property provides critical connectivity for Mule Deer and access to Canyon Springs for recreation.

Impacts caused by the project to the habitat, public safety, recreational access to Canyon Springs, water quality, air quality, community services and resources. Comments a can also request studies and additional data the Town May need for new development in Eastern Truckee.
