Thank You 15th Annual Sierra Forage Dinner
On Friday, August 15th, MAP hosted our 15th Annual Sierra Forage Dinner at the magical Mitchell's Meadows, just north of Truckee. The sold-out event, attended by 150 guests, was a wonderful evening featuring MAP supporters, good food by Roundabout Catering, wine pairings by Truckee River Winery, and fun music by Danger Rose, all while raising awareness and funds for grassroots advocacy. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, the 58 silent and live auction donors who helped us raise $18,670 in the auction, and $2,000 for the MAP Youth Environmental Scholarship Fund, thanks to the live painting by Sara Dube!
Thank you again to all our volunteers and guests who made the event possible this year!

Match & Pledge Raising $70,000
for Environmental Advocacy
Through a generous match of $35,000 provided by Greg Hovorka Founding Board Member, Daniel Haas, Peter & Ginnie Haas, Mike & Carol Sabarese, Roxanne Duffield & Hans Wain, Ernest Grossman, Stephanie Fuhrman & Jennifer Jackson, and Alexis Ollar in honor of Rich Ollar - MAP raised $35,850 at the dinner through the support of 70 donors raising paddles to help us reach our goal. This significant amount will have a profound impact on our environmental advocacy efforts. A huge thank you to our match donors who supported this critical request and to all the supporters at the dinner who committed to fueling advocacy for Truckee Tahoe!
Community, Good Food & Wine
Guests will enjoy a locally sourced, gourmet, multi-course, family-style dinner with vegetarian and pescatarian options, crafted by Chef Collin Smith, with Roundabout Catering. Guests will be able to enjoy passed appetizers during the cocktail hour, and dinner service will be complemented with expert wine pairings! This year MAP is excited to have Truckee River Winery as our wine sponsor, pairing four amazing wines with our multi-course, family-style dinner!
Local Live Music + Cocktail Hour
This year, the Sierra Forage Dinner will feature live music by Danger Rose, featuring Antja Thompson, Julie Brisbin, and Will Richardson in a stunning outdoor setting, looking out over Mitchells Meadows. Enjoy music during the cocktail hour and get your bidding started at the silent auction as you groove to the tunes of Danger Rose and mingle with the amazing community members who attend the Sierra Forage Dinner!
Silent Auction, Live Auction, & Match & Pledge
Each year, MAP brings fun and excitement to the auction segment, literally putting the FUN into Fundraising! Led by Ravn Whitington of Porter Simon Law, you will love each moment of MAP’s live auction, while wanting to raise your paddle for the match and pledge, providing critical funding for MAP and our mission each year. Whether you bid in the silent or live auction, or buy a ticket to the dinner, you are investing in critical environmental advocacy for present and future generations of Truckee Tahoe!
Live Painting by Sara Dube
For the first time, MAP is having a live painting at the dinner by Sara Dube, artist and owner of Gallery 5830’, in Historic Downtown Truckee. Sara has been a longtime MAP member and supporter, and we are thrilled to have her be part of our biggest event this year! We plan to auction off the painting at the dinner, with all proceeds benefiting MAP’s youth environmental scholarship program.
