Dear MAP Supporter,

In 1987, a group of fearless locals gave birth to a movement of grassroots environmental advocacy for Truckee Tahoe. Our founders paved the way for community-powered conservation by halting a Kmart in Historic Downtown Truckee. Stopping Kmart became more than just preventing development; it fostered passion, persistence, and a strong voice to protect open space, preserve mountain character, and stand up for the community. Thirty-five years later, the commitment to our mission remains at the core of our advocacy efforts.

Our work has protected special places such as Historic Downtown Truckee while preserving more than 7,000 acres from poorly planned development in the Martis Valley, Donner Summit, Brockway Summit, and Canyon Springs. Your belief and investment in our mission have fueled us since the beginning; thank you!

Right now is a critical time to support MAP’s mission and work. Contributions allow us to continue fighting the good fight! Your donations fuel advocacy for our priority campaigns to preserve mountain character through sound land use planning and protect 8,500 acres in the Martis Valley and North Lake Tahoe watershed by stopping Martis Valley West.

Please consider joining or renewing your MAP membership this summer. Your contributions are helping to make a better Truckee Tahoe  for present and future generations. Our history proves that we can accomplish anything together - become a MAP member today!

With gratitude,

Alexis Ollar, MS & GISP
