Support Our Community

An important facet of MAP’s mission is to support the community through land use advocacy, by creating meaningful land use benefits to support the backbone of the Truckee-Tahoe community. MAP’s grassroots advocacy work has resulted in the creation of long-term community benefits that support the workforce, the environment, and our conservation partners. Since 1987, MAP has been a strong voice for the community, helping to elevate the voices that are not represented in land use planning, in an effort to preserve the fabric of our community. There must be a balance when considering growth, the impacts on our resources, and the uniqueness of our mountain economy in order to support residents. Our advocacy work has helped to support the community while advocating for the preservation of Truckee-Tahoe’s mountain character and sustainable growth for the future.
